Paws 'n' Claws was formed when my bored daughter wanted something to do during the school holidays. Something that made her some pocket money would be an advantage!
So, basically the dog walking was her idea to get her out of the house, get some fresh air and enjoy her love of dogs all at the same time.
Both Walker and dog wear high visibility jackets on outdoor sessions (in dim light or on narrow roads). A first-aid kit and mobile phone are carried at all times in case of emergency. For this purpose it is essential that any contact information given to the service provider is up-to-date, including vet contact details. A personal attack alarm is also carried.
Other equipment such as torch and water when necessary.
Please note that dogs will not be walked in torrential rain, high winds, lightning or snow storms for safety reasons.
It is the dog owner's responsibility to make sure that a collar and lead is provided. This should be checked for wear and damage before each session and if found to be unwearable a new item will need to be purchased by the owner. No dogs will be taken outdoors without these items. If the items are unwearable with no replacement available then the session will be cancelled by the service provider until such item has been replaced.
It is a legal requirement for all dogs to wear an ID tag at all times. This should be clearly printed/engraved with the owners contact details and kept up to date. In the event that your dog should go missing this will enable them to be re-united with their family. Owners who do not have a dog tag for this purpose can be fined up to £1000.
